It’s too late

By clarkstephanie

Well, it’s too late now…

It’s too late to change my mind and stay in Kansas. I bought my plane ticket, my student insurance and have paid the deposit on my Austrian apartment. I’ve spent a significant amount of time and ink filling out paperwork, applications and contracting professional translators. I moved out of my home in Emporia, which involved a rented U-Haul and the muscles of several family members and friends. After considering all this, I guess I have to go.

In approximately two months I’ll be departing from the Kansas City International Airport… destination Salzburg, Austria. It hasn’t been an easy venture preparing for my year-long stay in Austria, but it will be worth it. Through this blog I’ll share my thoughts about deciding to study abroad, applying through the International Student Exchange Program (ISEP), preparing to study abroad, and once I arrive, my experiences in Salzburg.

    Stephanie–

Great start to your blog. I think I said this before, but be thinking about some ways we can “launch” your blog at the fair on 8 Sept. I’m curious to know: what are some of your biggest fears? Do you have any sense, anticipation of how you may change? Has the process already changed you in some ways? Does the preparation for this year-long odyssey differ in any way from your trip to China? Are there feelings/activities that are similar? Can you see the professor in me coming out? :)
